  • Course Overview

    Competency in unvented hot water systems is an essential qualification for modern plumbing and heating engineers.

    This one-day course provides learners with the knowledge and practical understanding required to work safely and effectively with domestic unvented hot water storage systems. The programme covers installation, commissioning, servicing, fault finding and legal responsibilities in line with current industry standards.

  • Learning Outcomes

    Successful candidates will:

  • Entry Requirements

    Learners must hold one of the following:

    • Appropriate NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualification
    • OR An appropriate industry registration such as Gas Safe Register, ACS, OFTEC 105E, or equivalent
    • OR A minimum of two years industry experience in domestic heating and hot water system installation, supported by employer or industry witness testimony
    • OR A minimum of two years experience in the design and advice of domestic heating and hot water systems, supported by employer or industry witness testimony

  • Assessment

    You will be assessed through a multiple choice paper exam and practical assessment.

  • Certification

    NICEIC Certificate of Competence will be issued to successful learners and is valid for five years.

    Who needs an Unvented Hot Water qualification?

    Any engineer installing, servicing or maintaining unvented hot water systems should hold a recognised UVHW qualification.
