Buckinghamshire College Group proudly hosted the MEI Maths Challenge last week, welcoming students to a day of problem-solving, teamwork and high-level mathematical thinking. Our students rose to the occasion with confidence, stepping outside their comfort zones, collaborating effectively, and approaching every challenge with enthusiasm.
Their hard work paid off with outstanding success in a competition that saw over 60,000 students take part nationally. Our teams secured first place in two categories and third place in the remaining category, an exceptional achievement that highlights both their dedication and their mathematical ability. Both first-place teams will now progress to the National Finals, placing them among the strongest competitors in the country.
We are incredibly proud of this achievement, as being the top performers out of tens of thousands is truly remarkable. The event created a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere on campus, and we send a massive thanks to MEI for delivering such a high‑energy and motivating challenge.
We would also like to thank Dave and the team at The Education Hub and TikBox for sponsoring and supporting the day. Their contribution was invaluable in helping us host an event that both challenged and celebrated our students.
Congratulations to all the students who took part and we look forward to supporting our finalists as they prepare for the next stage of the competition.
