We are delighted to announce that, following an Ofsted inspection in January 2024, Aylesbury College Day Nursery has retained its overall grade of “Good”.A small team of inspectors visited the Nursery which is located in the grounds of Buckinghamshire College Group – Aylesbury Campus.
They graded the Nursery in four key areas including “The quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management”, finding it to be “Good” in all.
During their visit, inspectors particularly praised the strong level of support provided by staff for all children and highlighted the close working relationships with parents and other professionals. Inspectors found that staff get to know children as individuals which helps them to settle well and soon become familiar with staff and the daily routines.
When observing the children, inspectors found that “Children develop their confidence effectively from the start. They form strong relationships with staff, who positively praise and encourage them. This promotes children's self-esteem well.” The inspectors also highlighted the good quality of teaching consistently seen and the way that staff have adapted the curriculum in response to children’s needs post the Covid-19 pandemic.
Head of Early Years Nursery/Pre School, Carol Carlin said;
“I feel our grade and reports reflects the hard work and dedication of our nursery team. Ofsted highlighted how well we know our children, the strong partnerships we have with parents and how well we understand the curriculum, most importantly how happy all our children are. It is so nice for the early years sector to be recognised in this way.”
