On our T Level Technical Qualification in Legal Services, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the legal industry, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career. The curriculum covers core legal principles, legal research, and the application of law in various contexts. Students will delve into areas such as contract law, criminal law, and civil litigation, honing their analytical and critical thinking abilities.

Furthermore, the program emphasises practical skills development, including legal writing, document drafting, and client communication. Students will have the opportunity to engage in work placements, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios and build valuable industry experience. The T Level also integrates technology in legal practice, ensuring students are adept at using digital tools essential in the contemporary legal landscape. Overall, the qualification aims to produce well-rounded and competent legal professionals ready to contribute effectively in diverse legal settings.

Achieving this Technical Qualification will provide several progression options. These include:

Skilled employment: Legal services roles such as Business Assistant in a legal services function, paralegal or an EO Caseworker.

An Apprenticeship in: Level 3 Paralegal or Level 4 Conveyancing Technician

Level 4 Probate Technician Higher level study: Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ). Like T Levels, HTQs are developed in consultation with employers. They are qualifications at levels 4 and 5 and prepare you for occupations at these levels.

CiLEX Professional Qualifications. These industry recognised qualifications provide legal knowledge and skills relevant to pathways in the legal services sector from level 3 upwards.

Degree related programmes: Law, Criminology or Business Studies

Students will be assessed through six externally assessed exams over the two year programme. Students will also be required to complete 315 hours (approximately 45 days) industry placements over the two years. These placements will be with an employer to make sure that you have authentic experience of the workplace.
