- Entry Requirements
Applicants are required to have a minimum of Grade 4 in either GCSE English Language or GCSE Mathematics, and at least Grade 3 in the other subject. Functional Skills level 2 is also acceptable. All applicants will also be interviewed to assess their previous education and work experience. Acceptance on the course depends on the interview and relevant qualifications. This course is for students aged 19+ only

- What will I learn?
You will be expected to participate fully in all class activities and undertake a considerable amount of independent study. You will learn essay writing, referencing skills, how to debate, analysing and how to evaluate academic research.
- Additional Information Most learners are eligible for the Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of the Access to HE course. Students who take out an Advanced Learning Loan to fund their course will get this loan cleared if they then go on to university and take out a full student loan. If you are not eligible for the loan and need to self-fund, a 25% deposit of the course fees must be paid before enrolment If you require any further information, please contact our Admissions department or come along to one of our open days.
- Progression
The course is designed for students to progress on to further study at university degree level or on to a higher apprenticeship in health professions. Leading to a variety of career opportunities such as nursing, midwifery, biological sciences, mental health, nursing, paramedic science, radiology etc.
- How am I assessed?
Modules are graded at pass, merit or distinction, which leads to a portfolio of evidence at the end of the course. There may be some internal exams as part of the course.
Access to HE: Health Professions (Level 3)
If you are interested in a career such as Nursing, Midwifery, Radiology, Paramedic Science and other health professions. This Access to Higher Education course will prepare you to study at degree level at university. This is a one-year, Level 3 course specifically designed to enable you to develop the knowledge and study skills to progress into your chosen health career.
This course is for students aged 19+.
You will be expected to be available 3 working days per week for face-to-face and online lectures.
