This qualification is designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required to develop competence as a social care worker across a variety of social care support settings.

Through a series of mandatory units, learners will gain the core knowledge and skills necessary for working effectively within social care environments. These units ensure that learners meet the professional standards expected in the sector, preparing them for real-world responsibilities.

Employers can rely on this qualification as robust evidence of a learner’s achievement against the occupational standards for knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSBs). These standards represent the minimum requirements for entry into the profession and align with the Lead Adult Care Worker occupational standard, ensuring learners are well-prepared for their roles in social care.
