One of our talented Level 3 Graphic Design & Illustration students, Alicja, has just completed an incredible milestone; illustrating 44 professional artworks for an upcoming children’s book series. Even more exciting? She was paid for her work, turning her creative skills into a real-world opportunity.
The project, a charming series titled Old Farmer Bramley Stories, was written by Jeremy Holmes, an author inspired by bedtime tales he once told his daughters and now shares with his granddaughter. The stories follow a family of fruit characters, each with its own personality and life lesson, brought to life through Alicja’s thoughtful and expressive illustrations.
“Alicja has captured the feel of the stories brilliantly,” the author shared. “The fruits have their own personalities but they’re not too human or cartoonish. Her illustrations help guide the narrative arc, from the introduction of Old Father Bramley to the final story, where we say goodbye to him.”
This collaboration is a shining example of the kind of industry experience our students gain through the course. From live briefs to professional commissions, our Graphic Design & Illustration programme is designed to help students build a portfolio that gets noticed.
Congratulations to Alicja on this fantastic achievement! We can’t wait to see what she creates next.
