- What will I learn?
Learners study a wide range of essential topics, including human growth and development, safeguarding, equality and diversity, communication, infection control, psychological and sociological perspectives, and the roles of practitioners. The course also introduces more advanced content such as public health, mental wellbeing, research skills and anatomy and physiology, helping learners build a broad and adaptable skill set.

Level 3 Study Programme: Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care
The Level 3 Health and Social Care programme is designed for learners who are passionate about helping others and who aspire to work within health, care or community support settings. This course provides a strong foundation of knowledge, practical understanding and professional behaviours needed to succeed in this rewarding sector. A key strength of the programme is its emphasis on real-world experience. Learners complete a minimum of 75–175 hours of work placement depending on their route, enabling them to apply their learning in practice, develop confidence and gain valuable employability skills. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to reflect on their progress and build a portfolio demonstrating their competence and readiness for the next step. This qualification supports progression to university courses in nursing, midwifery, social work and allied health professions, as well as direct employment in roles such as healthcare assistant or support worker.
