    Students must be 19 or older at the start of the academic year and hold an minimum of an E3 qualification in Maths or an E3 ESOL qualification.

  • What will I learn?

    This 16-week practical course focuses on developing everyday and work-related maths skills, progressing through various levels from Entry Level 1 to Level 1.

    Number: Master calculations with whole numbers, fractions, and percentages.

    Shape and Space: Learn about ratios, scales, and measuring shapes and spaces.

    Handling Data: Understand how to use statistics and present data effectively.

    Measurement: Gain practical skills in measuring and working with different units.

  • Additional Information
    All students will be invited in to attend a welcome day and initial assessment before enrolment.
  • Progression

    Students that successfully gain a pass in Level 1 Functional Skills can move to our Level 2 Functional Skills or GCSE courses at the next available opportunity.

  • How am I assessed?

    There are two formal assessments: one with a calculator and one without. These assessments will take place during lessons and can be repeated if necessary. Successfully passing these assessments will earn you a functional skills qualification at at level 1.
