- Entry Requirements
Students must be 19 or older at the start of the academic year, (31st August) and hold a minimum of a Pass at Functional skills level 1 or a grade 1-3 from an existing Maths GCSE.
An initial assessment to determine the appropriate study pathway.
- What will I learn?
Build a comprehensive body of mathematical knowledge and the skills to apply it in various situations over a 32-week period. Numbers: Develop a strong foundation in basic mathematical concepts.
Algebra: Learn to manipulate algebraic expressions and solve equations.
Space and Measure: Understand geometry, including shapes, volumes, and areas.
Statistics and Probability: Analyse data, understand probability, and interpret statistical information.
Both pathways offer 3-hour classes per week, available in either daytime or evening sessions. Additional independent study is essential to ensure success. All students receive a Century login for personalised development outside of class.
- Additional Information All students will be invited in to attend a welcome day and initial assessment before enrolment.
- How am I assessed?
The course includes a Mock exam in March and concludes with two formal exams in May/June. Dates are set externally.
