Students must be 19 or older at the start of the academic year. An initial assessment needs to be completed to determine if GCSE is the correct course for the applicant.

- What will I learn?
Delve into a wide array of fiction and non-fiction texts, enhancing your critical reading and writing abilities over a 32-week period.
Reading: Analyse language use, evaluate techniques, and compare texts critically.
Writing: Develop creative non-fiction and fiction writing skills, utilising a rich vocabulary and varied language features. These skills are transferable to all aspects of life, helping you communicate confidently and effectively. You will be assessed on reading comprehension, analytical comparisons and clear, imaginative writing. Tasks include understanding diverse texts, producing creative work and participating in group discussions.
You will also gain practical employability skills such as formal writing and presentation creation.

- How am I assessed?
There is a March Mock for all students. The course concludes with two formal exams in June.
