To join this programme you will need 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 (or equivalent) including Maths and/or English.

- What will I learn?
Capturing an image often requires a number of different techniques to ensure you have personalised the product. You will learn some basic darkroom practices, working with light, you also use video, digital imagery, screen print, studio and experimental imagery tasks.
- Additional Information Students will be required to purchase a range of art materials throughout the course ie. Sketchbook, pencils, paints and artwork case. A list of recommended materials will be made available during enrolment or induction. There may be a number of trips during the course which students are asked to attend as part of vital research gathering. Details will be made known before any trip takes place.
- Progression
Students who complete the course may wish to continue their progression journey onto the next level in Photography or Art & Design or may wish to complete a Level 3 in another subject area. There is plenty of advice and guidance available within the area and at the college to aid students in their progression journey.
- How am I assessed?
You will be assessed through practical assessments, self evaluation and end products using unit criteria to ensure you have collected all the evidence necessary. We use a variety of assessment methods to meet the need of the student which may include video presentation, observation, Q & A or sketchbook work. There is usually a final project at the end of the course which you will be graded on but by then you will be an expert.
