Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate

To enrol on this course, learners should normally be aged 19 or over and be working, volunteering, or undertaking a placement within an adult social care setting where they can complete the required workplace assessments.

Learners should have a good standard of English and be able to complete written coursework and professional discussions. It is recommended that applicants hold a Level 1 qualification or equivalent literacy skills, although individual circumstances and relevant experience will be considered.

As workplace competence forms part of the qualification, learners must have access to suitable opportunities to demonstrate their skills in practice and be supported by their employer or placement provider where applicable.

No prior adult social care qualifications are required, making this course suitable for both new entrants to the sector and existing care staff wishing to gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Successful completion of the NCFE Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate can support progression to higher-level qualifications, including Level 3 Adult Care qualifications, Lead Adult Care Worker programmes and other specialist health and social care training.

The qualification can also enhance career prospects within a wide range of adult care settings, including residential care homes, nursing homes, domiciliary care services, supported living environments and community-based care.

There are no formal examinations for this qualification. Learners receive ongoing support and feedback throughout the programme to help them successfully achieve the qualification.
