Buckinghamshire College Group is delighted to be part of Screen Bucks, a new county-wide initiative that unites leading studios, education providers, and industry partners to strengthen Buckinghamshire’s growing screen sector. As a key education partner, the College will help nurture the next generation of creative talent, giving students access to skills development and real-world opportunities in film and television production.

Screen Bucks officially launched at Creative England’s Filming in England Connect event, hosted at Pinewood Studios to champion the county’s fast-growing screen industry and position Buckinghamshire as a leading destination for film and TV production.

Developed in collaboration with Pinewood Studios, the National Film and Television School (NFTS), Buckinghamshire Film Office, Amazon Prime, Wycombe Film Studios, CineArk, All Spring Media, Buckinghamshire New University, Buckinghamshire College Group, Buckinghamshire Business First, Rogue Runner and Naked TV, Screen Bucks brings together local industry, education and business partners under one brand to promote the county’s world-class studios, facilities, skilled workforce, and creative opportunities.

Screen Bucks aims to support productions of all sizes by strengthening collaboration across the county’s screen sector. Its work centres on four key priorities: supporting productions, promoting Buckinghamshire as the destination for film and TV, driving growth for local businesses and talent, and advocating for the county’s screen industry at both local and national level.

Andrew M Smith OBE DL, Corporate Affairs Director at Pinewood Studios and Deputy Chair, Buckinghamshire Council’s Growth Board, said:

“The creative industries are a key economic growth sector for the UK and Buckinghamshire, featuring prominently in both the Government’s and Buckinghamshire Council’s recently published growth strategies. Screen Bucks is an important step in bringing together local resources, talent, and industry partners under one brand to strengthen our creative economy and attract inward investment. This initiative will help to further position Buckinghamshire as a leading destination for film and television production.”

The launch was announced during Filming in England’s Connect: Buckinghamshire Industry Mixer, hosted by Creative England’s Filming in England team as part of their BFI-funded quarterly programme of regional networking events. Their South East regional event was hosted at Pinewood Studios in partnership the BFI Metro London Skills Cluster, and Buckinghamshire Film Office. The event brought together key figures from across the film and television industry, celebrating collaboration and showcasing Buckinghamshire’s vital role in national production.
